about

"Really amazing lazy guitar based pop music on this band's 3rd tape. 'Sister Lovers,' 'Kaleidescope World' & 'Fakebook' are all good reference points but these guys are hardly derivative. Everything one could ask for is here - no pretension, great songs, some nice production touches, and a 4-track recording to keep it simple. Truly inspirational." - Rob Forman, ND 5, Austin TX

"Fine stuff midway between Mashpot & the Feelies, hitting off-notes for interest, wallowing in feedback or indulging an acoustic intro... 'Your Word is Good for Nothing These Days' is imbued w/ache, building from seemingly aimless Jandek-like gtr twangs into an effective roar." - Sal Amoniac (Jeff Bagato), Mole #5, Herndon, VA

"Drug-addled, demagoguery, demented, dire, dependent, doom-laden - anything starts with D, Dream Syndicate...uh...dull?? Nah, with the right hootch, it would sound delightful...Mud Pie? I'd eat one just to get high!!" -Bob Fay & Lou Barlow, Cut #12, Norwich CT.

Recorded at Tom's and Steven's homes (48th & Osage, S Matlack) between October 1990 and April 1991 on the trusty PortaTwo four-track.

Originally self-released on 50 or so cassettes in 1991. Also released in the UK on Acid Tapes in 1991 (TAB 086 - out of print). Remastered to digital by Carl Saff in 2014

A handful of cassettes remain; message us (or see us at a show) if interested.
